Privacy policy

What Raising Greats collects, why, who can see it, and how to see, change or delete it.

Last updated 29 October 2026

In short

  • We collect what we need to run your membership, and nothing to sell. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
  • Other members see your name, photo, profile and what you post. Your email, phone number and sign-up answers are seen only by our team.
  • We never ask for your children’s names, only their age range.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by writing to info@raisinggreats.com.

Who we are

Raising Greats runs this community and decides how your information is used, which makes us the controller under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). For anything about your information, write to info@raisinggreats.com.

What we collect

When you join

Your first and last name, email address and mobile number; whether you would like updates on WhatsApp; how you describe yourself (for example parent or guardian); your country and city; your children’s age range; and what you are hoping to get from the community.

When you take part

Your profile photo, headline and bio if you add them; your posts, comments, reactions, poll votes, saved posts, event replies and messages; and any feedback you send us.

When you pay

Stripe takes your card details on our checkout page and keeps them. We receive a record of what you bought, the amount, and whether the payment went through. We never see your full card number.

When you use the site

Pages you visit, what you click, your device and browser, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, how quickly pages load, and errors you run into. We also record some visits as session replays so we can see where the site is confusing. Anything you type into a form is hidden in those recordings.

If you connect an AI assistant

Which assistant you connected, what you allowed it to do, and a log of the actions it took. Access tokens are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form.

How we use it, and why we may

UK law asks us to say which legal reason covers each use:

  • To run your membership (our contract with you): signing you in, taking payments, showing your profile and posts to members, sending emails about your account, your purchases and the sessions you booked.
  • To keep the community safe and improve it (our legitimate interests): moderation, preventing abuse and fraud, understanding which sessions and features help families, and fixing what breaks.
  • With your permission (consent): WhatsApp updates, which you choose when you join and can stop at any time.
  • Because the law requires it (legal obligation): keeping payment records for tax.

Who can see what

  • Members can see your name, photo, headline, bio, city, and the posts and replies you make in spaces they can open.
  • Only our team (the community’s owners and admins) can see your email address, phone number, WhatsApp choice and sign-up answers.
  • Direct messages are seen only by the people in the conversation.

Services we use

A few trusted companies process information for us, only to provide their service and under contracts that protect it:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in. Your account and community data are stored in the European Union.
  • Vercel: hosts this website.
  • Stripe: payments and invoices.
  • PostHog: product analytics, session replays and error reports.
  • Our email provider: sends sign-in links, codes and account emails.
  • Shopify: runs our shop. Orders you place there are covered by the shop’s own privacy notice.
  • Google, Apple, Facebook or LinkedIn, only if you choose to sign in with one of them.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK–US data bridge or by the standard contract clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner.

Cookies

  • Needed to work: cookies that keep you signed in, and Stripe’s cookies on the checkout page, which help prevent fraud.
  • Analytics: a PostHog cookie that tells us when the same browser comes back, so we can count visits and join up a session.
  • Preferences: your light or dark theme, stored in your browser.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we do not load analytics at all. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works, although you will need to sign in again.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and community information while you are a member. When you ask us to close your account, we delete your profile and contact details. We keep payment records for six years, because UK tax law requires it. Analytics and session replays are kept only as long as they are useful for improving the community, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to send it to you in a format you can take elsewhere. Where you gave permission, you can take it back at any time. Write to info@raisinggreats.com; we reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would like the chance to put it right first.

Children

Accounts are for adults. Children take part in sessions through a parent or guardian’s account, and we ask only for their age range. Please do not post anything that identifies a child, yours or anyone else’s, without thinking it through; see our community guidelines.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Access to your information is limited by strict rules in the database, so members can only read what they are meant to, and only a few of our team can see contact details. No system is perfectly secure; if something ever goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
